Membership Terms and Conditions

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of Set Aside at Greenlawdean Farm. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before purchasing a membership.

  1. Membership Types and Benefits

Set Aside offers three membership types, each with specific benefits:

Skills-sharing Membership (£20/month)

– Access to Set Aside facilities for teaching classes and workshops

– Public liability insurance included while on the premises

– Priority booking for accommodation

– Access to dedicated teaching spaces

– This membership also allows you the same access as Community Membership

 

 

Community Membership (£7/month)

– Discounted access to events and workshops

– Access to rest areas and refreshment facilities for yourself and small groups

– Regular newsletter and event updates

Healing Membership (Free)

– Available to selected charities and individuals in need

– The Benefits of Community Membership are included

– Priority booking for healing retreats

– Offered at management’s discretion

  1. Membership Duration and Payment

– Memberships are renewed on a monthly basis

– Payment is collected via direct debit on the same date each month

– We require 14 days’ notice to cancel your membership

– No refunds are provided for partial months

– Membership fees may be reviewed annually with 30 days’ notice of any changes

  1. Member Conduct

All members agree to:

– Respect the natural environment and wildlife at all times

– Follow the Countryside Code while on the farm

– Keep dogs on leads unless in a designated ‘livestock-free’ field

– Respect the privacy and experience of other visitors

– Leave no trace and take litter home

– Follow all safety guidelines provided by staff

– Maintain appropriate behaviour that aligns with our values

– Members may use Set Aside with small groups of non-members. (But we would encourage them to become members too!)

  1. Access to Land and Facilities

– Membership provides access to designated areas of the farm only

– Some areas may be restricted due to farming operations or conservation work

– Access times are from 8am to 8pm daily unless otherwise arranged

– Management reserves the right to close facilities for maintenance with notice

– Teaching spaces must be booked in advance

– All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied

  1. Changes to Membership

– We reserve the right to modify, suspend or terminate membership benefits with 30 days’ notice

– Membership is non-transferable and cannot be shared

– We may introduce additional benefits or change existing ones as the project develops

  1. Cancellation and Termination

– Members may cancel at any time with 14 days’ written notice (by email) or can this just be done on the website?

– Set Aside reserves the right to terminate membership without refund if terms are breached

– Inappropriate behaviour may result in immediate termination of membership

  1. Liability

– Set Aside cannot accept liability for loss or damage to personal property

– Members use the facilities at their own risk

– Members are responsible for their own safety and that of any guests they bring

– We recommend having appropriate personal insurance

Accommodation Booking Terms and Conditions

Thank you for booking accommodation at Set Aside. Please read these terms carefully before confirming your booking.

  1. Our Huts

– We offer three traditional huts 

– All huts are off-grid with solar power, wood-burning stoves and eco-friendly toilets

– Basic kitchen facilities and essential supplies are provided

– Mobile reception may be limited or unavailable

– Each hut accommodates a maximum of two adults

  1. Booking and Payment

– Full payment is required at the time of booking

– Members receive priority booking periods before general release

– Minimum stay is two nights

– Changes to bookings can be made up to 14 days before arrival, subject to availability

– A security deposit of 20% of the fully amount is required on booking

  1. Cancellation Policy

– Cancellations made more than 14 days before arrival receive a full refund

– Cancellations 7-14 days before arrival receive a 50% refund

– Cancellations less than 7 days before arrival do not receive a refund

– We recommend travel insurance to cover unexpected cancellations

– If we need to cancel your booking due to circumstances beyond our control, we will offer an alternative date or a full refund

  1. During Your Stay

– Check-in time is from 3pm to 7pm

– Check-out time is by 11am

– Late check-ins must be arranged in advance

– Instructions for using facilities will be provided on arrival

– A farm map showing safe walking routes will be provided

– Please report any issues promptly so we can address them

– Quiet hours are between 10pm and 7am

  1. House Rules

– No smoking inside the huts

– Campfires only in designated fire pits

– Dogs must be kept on leads near livestock

– Take all litter home or use provided recycling facilities

– Respect wildlife and do not disturb farm animals

– Wood for stoves is provided – please use responsibly

– Leave the hut as you found it

  1. Health and Safety

– Emergency contact details will be provided on arrival

– First aid kits are available in each hut

– In case of emergency, call 999 and alert farm staff

– Please note the remote location and limited vehicle access

– Guests with mobility issues should contact us before booking

– Huts may not be suitable for those with severe allergies due to the natural surroundings

  1. Additional Information

– Additional visitors are not permitted without prior arrangement

– We cannot guarantee specific wildlife sightings or weather conditions

– Local activities and practitioners can be booked through Set Aside with notice
